Looking for a new diet? And by diet, I mean a healthy eating plan that works for you… You’re in luck because U.S. News & World Report analyzed 29 diets and just revealed its results.
To make it to the top, U.S. News had some guidelines: the program had to be nutritious, safe, relatively easy to follow, effective for weight loss, and against diabetes and heart disease.
Best Diets Overall
Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) got top nods. It’s a government-endorsed plan developed to fight high blood pressure. Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes (TLC) created by the National Institutes of Health came in second. And tied for third were the Mayo Clinic Diet, the Mediterranean Diet, and Weight Watchers.
Niche Diets…
The report went beyond just the Best Diets Overall. It narrowed things down further and rated all kinds of specific eating plans: Best Weight-Loss Diets, Best Diabetes Diets, Best Heart-Healthy Diets, Best Diets for Healthy Eating, Best Commercial Diet Plans, Easiest Diets to Follow, and Best Plant-Based Diets.
